Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms
Applications for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms may be obtained from the Snyder County Sheriff's Office during it's office hours. The application fee is $25.00 and you must be 21 years of age or older and be a resident of Snyder County to apply. The application may be completed in the Office or you may take it home and bring it back at a later time. However, you must appear in person in the Sheriff's Office when turning in the application. Licenses are valid for a period of five years from their date of issue. Also, remember to bring your Pennsylvania Driver's License or Pennsylvania Photo Identification.
If you live out of state and are applying for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms, be sure to bring your driver's license from your state of residence and your license to carry firearms issued by that state. If you live out of state and do not possess an out-of-state license to carry firearms, you do not qualify for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms.
When completing the application, remember to fill all boxes to their entirety. Do not write in the shaded area at the top of the application that says "For Use By Issuing Authority". Should a box not apply to you, simply write "N/A" in that box. In the "Reason" box, check all that apply. In the "Place of Birth" box, write the city and state in which you were born. In the references boxes, we will need two references who are 21 years of age or older and are of no relation to you. We will also need their full mailing addresses and telephone numbers. If you are a first time applicant in this County or if it has been one year or more since you last possessed a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms in this County, we will be mailing reference letters to your two references. We will not proceed with your background check until both of the reference letters are returned to us.

Then, flip the paper over and print page two of the application on the reverse side. Applications that are printed on two separate pieces of paper will NOT be accepted by the Sheriff's Office.
